_225_350_Book.43.coverThe strap line for this book is “The answer that changed my life and might just change the world!”  This book certainly has changing lives at its heart and it changed mine.

Richard Stearns (President of World Vision) starts his book with his journey of discovery from highly paid corporate CEO to a full understanding of the sacrifice necessary for putting the gospel into action.  He covers the desperate need in the world; he wonderfully expounds the scripture truth about service; he gentle admonishes the apathy and failures of the church and he delivers a challenging call to action for the worldwide church.

This book is highly readable, yet deep with truths.  It is accessible yet profound, simple yet powerful.  It grabs at the heart, rebukes one’s apathy and materialism and it encourages and challenges Christians to take Jesus seriously, make sacrifices worthy of Christ and preach the Whole Gospel in both words and deeds. Reading it will change your life and if it can change enough lives, then perhaps the church can change the world.
